Gone fishing..

Just wanted to let you know NC is taking a short break. Need to take some time off.

While away, I'll be keeping my eye on the market just in case some unusually good opportunities happen to present themselves. If they do, I'll be sure to highlight them.

Also, I'll be thinking about the following:

- Maybe it's time to make some changes to the format. As many NC fans have noticed, I've been cutting back on the "not actionable but good to know category", highlighting calls that I think will move stocks. These are not always easy to find and there are days that are well just..slow, meaning I end up posting calls I don't really feel strongly about. Just to have some fresh content on the page.

Anyway, I feel this may not be the best approach. I feel that by posting only the best stuff, NC can really make money for readers. However, this may mean there will be days of zero posts at NC.

- Since starting NC 11 months ago, we have received many offers (some from pretty prominent players) to have our content built into their offerings. NC has agreed to couple of these offers but has never accepted any compensation for this. Essentially, NC has been a not-for-profit operation.

Yet, considering the time and effort put into bringing quality content to our readers, I'm wondering if putting Google's adsense on the page (plus maybe a banner from a sponsor) would destroy the user experience. NC averages between 2,000-5,000 readers daily.

Would appreciate any feedback,

NC

PS: Will resume posting on Monday.

No objection here for an ad banner or any other banners you choose. Your observations and comments are more often than not, dead on and I look forward to reading them daily.

Thank you for the past, present and future!!

You provide a great service.

You could have annoying Flash "hit the monkey" banners, or evil pop-unders, and I'd probably still read.

NC,

Your blog is invaluable and on my morning routine role of reading before the market opens. Do what ever you can to earn some money from your site....ads do not bother me at all....some are even interesting.

Have a good break...look forward to reading you when you get back.

I visit you at least once a morning. Your value is worth a banner and a couple of ads.

I don't think ads would detract from the value of the page. Keep up the good work!

No objection to ads, but if you're eating your own cooking you should be making $$$ 'hand over fist' as a less adept market guru would say.

Banner on, dude! I'll even click on the ads if it'll help. :-)

Thank you for all you do.

CHEERS!

I always appreciate your tedious work that goes into compiling the blog. I read it every day. As you say, there might more time and effort than necessary or useful in some of the "not actionable, but good to know" category. When there's no high-conviction stuff out there, take a break. Google or banner ads? No problem.

Support this blog 100% and would be happy to click a few ads every now and then.

You have a great blog--I read it everyday. I enjoy no ads, who wouldn't, but it is your job as a capitalist to make money. Just put them up tastefully. You're site has been great so far, and I expect it'll continue as such, even with less per day posts.

As a fellow blogger, I commend you for your timely observations. I added Google's adsense to my site--as an afterthought--but it doesn't generate meaningful cashflow. [Between RSS feeds & unique visitors, get about 1,000 hits/day]

As said previously, go with whatever 'annoying' pop-up ads will generate the most $$$ to compensate you for your time--those of us that enjoy reading your content will still be here!

I don't think banners will destroy the User experience.

I hit you site every morning and wouldn't mind the ads. I've implemented AdSense for several small businesses and you are better off not following that route. ROI is weak. Just my 2cts.
Keep it coming, you have a loyal following.

Thanks

It seems like with the traffic you generate that there should be a more lucrative cash generator out there than Adsense. Not sure what that would be however...

Unless your blog becomes one big ad I'll still visit every day.

I love your site, by the way.
